1. The spirit of the community

Options Owl is a public space for traders to share ideas, charts, and commentary about options and markets. Only posts that follow these guidelines are allowed. Keep it real, keep it respectful, and keep it about markets. A good debate, a strong take, and a wide range of perspectives are what make the community valuable — going after the person behind the take is not. We proactively moderate, and repeated or severe violations result in removal of content and, where warranted, removal of accounts.

2. What belongs here

3. Trade honestly

A trading community runs on trust. These rules are specific to markets and are enforced strictly:

4. Content that is not allowed

The following categories are prohibited. Posts in any of these categories are hidden or removed, and repeat or severe violations can result in a ban. The reason a post was hidden is shown on the post so the action is transparent.

Child safety

Zero tolerance. Any sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualizes, grooms, or endangers children, results in an immediate permanent ban and a report to the relevant authorities.

Hate speech

Content attacking people or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar protected characteristics.

Harassment & bullying

Targeted abuse, threats, dogpiling, or repeated unwanted contact directed at another person. Criticize the trade, never the trader.

Violence & harm

Threats of violence, incitement or glorification of violence, extremist content, and content that encourages suicide or self-harm.

Sexual & explicit content

Nudity, pornography, sexualized imagery, and any intimate imagery shared without the subject's consent. Keep avatars and uploads safe for a professional feed.

Privacy violations

Publishing someone else's private information without consent — addresses, phone numbers, account details — or threatening to do so (doxxing).

Impersonation & deception

Impersonating executives, public figures, moderators, or other members; fake screenshots, fabricated fills, or manipulated media presented as real.

Spam & manipulation

Repetitive posting, copy-paste campaigns, brigading, gaming likes/follows/replies for reach, operating multiple accounts to amplify yourself, or creating new accounts to evade enforcement.

Scams & fraud

Phishing, "guaranteed profit" schemes, fake giveaways, impersonator support accounts, and any deceptive solicitation of money or credentials.

Illegal activity

Insider trading, market manipulation, or any content that facilitates illegal conduct — plus anything unlawful under applicable law generally.

Intellectual property

Do not post copyrighted material or trademarks you have no right to share. Short attributed quotes and your own charts are fine; reproducing paywalled content is not.

Off-topic

Grossly off-topic content that has nothing to do with markets or trading. There are better places for it — this stream stays about the tape.

Hidden (flagged) posts are transparent

When a post is hidden for violating a guideline, the category it violated is displayed on the post. This keeps moderation accountable: you can see why content was removed, not just that it was.

5. Promotion, automation & fair use

6. Reporting & blocking

If you see something that breaks these guidelines:

  1. Tap the flag button on the twit and pick the reason that fits best. Reports go to human moderators.
  2. Use block (offered after you report) to hide an author's posts on your own device immediately — you never have to engage.
  3. Never retaliate in the thread. Counter-harassment is itself a violation, even when provoked.

False or mass bad-faith reporting is itself abuse of the system and can lead to enforcement against the reporter.

7. How we enforce

We use a combination of automated keyword/abuse screening and human review by moderators using the StrikeAdmin console. Depending on the violation, we may take one or more of the following actions:

Evading enforcement — new accounts after a ban, or using others' accounts to post for you — results in permanent removal of the related accounts.

8. Appeals

If you believe content was hidden or your account was actioned in error, contact moderation@strikeviews.com with a link to the content and a brief explanation. We review appeals in good faith and will restore content or accounts when we got it wrong.

9. Changes to these guidelines

As the community grows, these guidelines will evolve. Material changes are noted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of Options Owl after a change takes effect means you accept the updated guidelines.
