Options Owl is live on Google Play
Options Owl is live on Google Play.
That's the whole announcement, and there's no date-agnostic way to write it — so this post gets published the day the listing goes live, not before. What follows is what the app actually is, since "we shipped" is not information.
What it does
It's an options journal and community app:
- Journal — record a position with its legs, DTE, delta, POP and the exit rule before it's placed, then keep the record through rolls, assignment and the close. The point is a paper trail that exists before the fear does.
- Feed — a community feed where every post carries structure (strategy · DTE · Δ · POP) instead of a screenshot. The house rule: if you can't attach math to the take, it's a feeling.
- Calculators — payoff, probability of profit and positioning tools, so the numbers are available at the moment you need them rather than in another tab.
What it deliberately doesn't do
- No advice, no signals, no recommendations. The app never tells anyone what to trade. It shows structure, probability and risk, and the decision stays with you.
- No broker connection. It doesn't place orders and can't touch an account.
- No ads. There is no ad surface in the app and none is planned.
- No account required to trade. The journal is local-first. Sign in only if you want the optional sync, the community posting, or the premium goal tracker — and even then, what syncs is encrypted on your device before it leaves.
The honest state of it
This is a first release. It will be rough in places. Some things we know we still have to do (and will): better onboarding for the journal, more of the maths surfaced at the point of decision, and a longer list of small interface fixes than I'd like for a launch day.
What won't change: no return promises, no performance claims, and no "join the winning side" language anywhere in the product. Options trading involves real and sometimes total loss of the capital committed, and any app that markets around that sentence is telling you what it is.
The one thing we'd like you to try
If you trade options, post your first position with its structure — legs, DTE, delta, POP, and the exit rule. Not the outcome: the setup. That single habit is the entire thesis of the product, and it's also the only thing that makes a feed worth reading.
The free tools on the site need no account and no app: payoff, POP, GEX.
